Another product that could be threatened by fragile supply chains is lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. Currently, 30% of EV batteries are LFP, and because of the advantages offered by LFP, it is predicted that this chemical compound will make up the majority of EV batteries by 2028. However, 90% of LFP batteries are currently made in China, meaning this supply chain could be vulnerable to disruptions. A key component of LFP batteries is phosphate, a natural mineral that has a wide range of applications, including in agriculture, animal feeds, cosmetics and advanced battery technology. The market size for LFP batteries was $17 billion in 2023, and it is predicted to reach $35.5 billion by 2028 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 15% over 2023-2028. Historically, global demand for phosphate increases by 2% or 3% every year, with demand primarily driven by its use in the agricultural sector. NBA Player Bones Hyland is returning to the city this summer to continue his TRESSI DAY basketball showcase – FREE of charge to the community. Bones will host the high-energy event which will highlight Wilmington’s top basketball talent with a middle school and high school game. A no-charge family fun event for all ages, there will be games, activities, music, food, and free haircuts! The event will take place on Saturday, July 22nd 2023 from 1-4pm ET at the Chase Fieldhouse (401 Garasches Ln Wilmington, DE 19801). Delaware will always be an important place for Bones, and he enjoys being able to give back to the communities that have shown him support over the years. The games look to highlight local talent and give kids a fun experience to play with new teammates and gain exposure, all while giving families an exciting day of basketball and fun. Registration for the event filled up with over 2,000 people within hours. There are no walk-up spots available.
