‘Tis the season for all things glitz and glam, and for showing the person you love how much you truly care. Unwrapping a jewelry box with diamonds inside is just about the most memorable gift experience you can have.
The Natural Diamond Initiative at De Beers Group kicked off the holiday season with a nationwide satellite media tour sharing a selection of the best natural diamond jewelry picks from trusted fine jewelry retailers in every region, as well as tips and tricks to guide you on your journey of buying diamond jewelry for a loved one, for yourself, or for an engagement.
Sally Morrison, Director of PR for Natural Diamonds at De Beers Group, shared that in a recently conducted OnePulse survey of 300 women, well over 80% said they would be “very excited” to receive a gift of natural diamond jewelry this holiday season. The single most wanted gift? Natural diamond ear studs. The next most popular choices were natural diamond rings, followed by diamond necklaces, such as a diamond solitaire pendant or tennis necklace. In addition, Morrison noted that the holiday season is the most popular time of year to get engaged, and that she has noticed two new trends — the choice of unusual natural diamond shapes like pears, hearts and marquises in classic solitaire settings, and a movement away from white gold and platinum settings to yellow and rose gold.
Morrison also noted that interesting design is more important to fine jewelry consumers today: “We are witnessing a move away from the conventional wisdom that ‘bigger is better’ to a sort of new idea for the American market — that smaller yet natural diamonds can be more personal, more intimate, and more uniquely your own.”
Indeed, one trend that the De Beers natural diamond expert noted was a new interest in exploring diverse designers, with 76 percent of women agreeing that they would be “interested in seeing more diversity in natural diamond jewelry brands and designers.”
Natural diamond jewelry offers a simple gift idea that is a surefire way to spark joy this holiday season. Natural diamond jewelry for this media tour was provided by trusted retailers Almasika, Ben Bridge Jeweler, Greenwich St. Jewelers, Helzberg Diamonds, Jared, Mateo New York, Matturi Fine Jewelry , MusexMuse, and Zales.
